The GTA 6 map: every region Rockstar has named in Leonida

Rockstar has named six regions of the GTA 6 map, from Vice City to Mount Kalaga. Here is each one in Rockstar's words, plus what outlets add.

The six regions Rockstar has named

Rockstar has named six regions of the GTA 6 map: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. All six sit inside Leonida, the game's version of Florida, and each has its own page in the 'Only in Leonida' section of rockstargames.com/VI, with a tagline, a short description and screenshots. Rockstar added them alongside Trailer 2 in May 2025, as Game Informer reported at the time.

At the time of writing (October 2026), these are the only regions Rockstar has described. Smaller named places sit inside them, and Rockstar has not published a full map.

Each region in Rockstar's words

  • Vice City: 'We're a long way from the '80s, but Vice City is still the sun and fun capital of America.' Rockstar names Ocean Beach with its pastel art deco hotels, the panaderías of Little Cuba, the bootleg brands of the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the VC Port, 'the cruise ship capital of the world'.
  • Leonida Keys: 'The dress code is casual, the bars are loaded.' A tropical archipelago where life 'isn't flashy but it's easy', right on the doorstep of 'some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America'.
  • Grassrivers: 'The untamable jewel of Leonida's crown.' A 'primordial expanse' where 'the gators may be the most famous attraction, but there are far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries among the mangroves'.
  • Port Gellhorn: 'This is Leonida's forgotten coast.' Cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls, with a new economy 'fueled by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks'.
  • Ambrosia: 'The battle for the health and wealth of Leonida begins here.' American industry and old school values in the heart of the state, where the Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs and the local biker gang 'provides almost everything else'.
  • Mount Kalaga: 'Room to breathe on the state's northern fringes.' A national landmark up against the state's northern border, with 'prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails', and 'hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals' in the surrounding backwoods.

What outlets add from the screenshots

Outlets have filled in some detail from Rockstar's screenshots, and these readings are theirs, not Rockstar's. Game Informer calls the Leonida Keys 'a clear parody of the Florida Keys', with retirees, casual boating and sea turtles. PC Gamer links Grassrivers to the Everglades and notes that almost every wetland screenshot includes at least one gator. GamesRadar mentions places such as the Starlet Motel in Port Gellhorn and a dive bar called The Rusty Anchor in the Keys, and PC Gamer names the Ambrosia biker gang as the Final Chapter.

PC Gamer's map guide also points to leaked material that appears to show airports, including a big one in south-central Leonida that would belong to Vice City. That comes from leaks, not from Rockstar, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Places inside the regions

Rockstar's edition pages name more locations, mostly tied to Ultimate Edition content. There is a Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, a Squalo boat docked at Washington Beach for fishing in Gambit Bay, Stockyard's streetwear shop and tattoo parlour, One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop in Lake Leonida, and a gang compound in Southside Vice City. The '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy is pitched for 'the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond', and the '95 Grotti Cheetah is an 'ode to Shore Drive'.

Rockstar does not say which region each of these places belongs to, apart from the ones named with a region, so outlet maps that place them are estimates.

Spelling the names correctly

Rockstar writes Grassrivers as one word, and the Keys region is Leonida Keys. Some articles split the wetland into 'Grass Rivers', call the islands 'Leonida Quays', or spell the mountain 'Mount Kalaha'. Rockstar's own pages are the reference, so this guide uses Grassrivers, Leonida Keys and Mount Kalaga.

What is still unconfirmed

Rockstar has not said exactly where each region sits, how big each one is, or whether all six are open from the start. The overall size figures in circulation come from a YouTuber's account of a studio preview, covered in our map size article. Our Leonida article explains the state as a whole, and there are separate guides to Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga, and Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia.
