Port Gellhorn is Leonida's forgotten coast and Ambrosia its sugar refinery town. Here is what Rockstar says about both, and what is still unknown.
Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia in brief
Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia are two of the six regions of Leonida, the state GTA 6 is set in. Port Gellhorn is 'Leonida's forgotten coast', a faded holiday town now running on a drug economy. Ambrosia is the industrial heart of the state, a sugar refinery town where a biker gang holds sway. Both have their own pages in Rockstar's 'Only in Leonida' section, alongside Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga.
Together they show the side of Leonida away from the neon of Vice City: small-town decline, hard work and old school values.
Port Gellhorn: Rockstar's description
Rockstar's tagline is 'This is Leonida's forgotten coast.' The description reads: 'Cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls won't bring the tourists back, but there's a new economy in this once-popular vacation spot. It's fueled by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks. Jump on a dirt bike and hold onto your wallet.'
So Port Gellhorn is a former resort that the tourists have left behind, and the 'new economy' is a wry way of describing drink and drugs.
Port Gellhorn: what outlets add
GamesRadar names a few places from Rockstar's screenshots, including the Delights 'Cabaret' and the Starlet Motel, and says the drug trade has firmly taken hold. PC Gamer describes it as a former vacation hotspot feeling economic strife, where 'more predatory industries' have filled the gap. Game Informer notes that the area's stores have been abandoned, and jokes that for two protagonists 'with a penchant for the illegal', it looks like a good place to make money.
That last point is a writer's guess. Rockstar has not said which missions or activities take place in Port Gellhorn.
Ambrosia: Rockstar's description
Rockstar's tagline is 'The battle for the health and wealth of Leonida begins here.' The description: 'In the heart of Leonida, American industry and old school values still reign supreme', whatever the cost. 'The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs, while the local biker gang provides almost everything else.'
The name is ironic, as GamesRadar points out: there is little that is sweet about Ambrosia, apart from the refinery's output.
Ambrosia: what outlets add
PC Gamer calls Ambrosia 'the classic American one-company town' and names the biker gang as the Final Chapter. GamesRadar describes the region as biker-controlled, with the gang enforcing its old school values. Game Informer, looking at the screenshots, suggests the local economy also partly relies on farms.
As with Port Gellhorn, these are readings of a short text and a set of screenshots. Rockstar has not described the gang's role in the story.
How they compare
- Mood: Port Gellhorn is a decaying seaside resort; Ambrosia is a working industrial town.
- Economy: Port Gellhorn runs on 'malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks'; Ambrosia runs on the Allied Crystal sugar refinery.

- Getting around: Rockstar's only hint for either region is to 'jump on a dirt bike' in Port Gellhorn.
What is still unconfirmed
Rockstar has not published a detailed map, so the exact position and size of both regions is unknown, as is how they connect to Vice City by road. It has also not named a real town as the model for either. Fan maps that pin them down are reconstructions from screenshots and leaks, so check whether a map cites Rockstar before relying on it.
