GTA 6 footage shows a long list of side activities, from basketball and scuba diving to racing and quiet evenings at home. Here is what was shown and what was not.
Plays on YouTubeWhat you can do in GTA 6 besides missions
The Extended Look showed a long list of side activities: basketball, pool, weightlifting, swimming, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, hunting, base jumping, parachuting, shooting-range practice, car and dirt-bike racing, jet skiing and driving fanboats, according to KeenGamer's recap. There are also quieter moments at home, nights out and odd encounters on the street.
Rockstar has not published an activity list. Its Extended Look, which premiered on 27 August 2026, was "Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5", so everything below is what appeared on screen, as described by KeenGamer and SVG. How each activity is rewarded or whether it feeds into progression has not been explained.
Sports, water and the outdoors
The water-heavy list fits the setting. Rockstar's Only in Leonida pages describe the Leonida Keys as sitting "right on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America", and Mount Kalaga as offering "prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails".
- Ball games and the gym: basketball, pool and weightlifting. SVG describes a bench-press minigame in which Lucia tests her strength.
- On and under the water: swimming, scuba diving, kayaking and fishing. SVG also reports Lucia setting off on a parasailing trip.
- In the air: base jumping and parachuting.
- Hunting and shooting-range practice.
Racing and getting around
KeenGamer lists car racing, dirt-bike racing, jet skiing and fanboats, and notes that electric scooters can be ridden around Leonida. Fanboats suit Grassrivers, the swamp region Rockstar calls "the untamable jewel of Leonida's crown".
Getting a car does not always mean buying one. SVG reports two ways to steal a vehicle: a shim for a slow, quiet theft, or smashing the driver's-side window for a faster one.
Home life and downtime
The footage includes scenes at home. KeenGamer describes Jason opening the fridge and interacting with food and drink while Lucia gets ready, and the pair drinking, smoking cigars and watching television, including flicking between channels and watching adverts. KeenGamer mentions commercials for Angstipan and the Prairie Sandwich, advertised at roughly 30,000 calories, in the usual vein of the series' satire.
Downtime has consequences. Eating and drinking affect Jason's weight and appearance, according to SVG, and our gameplay features article covers the wider lifestyle system.
Nights out and strange encounters
The pair are shown spending time in bars, clubs and other social spots. Out on the street, KeenGamer describes several random encounters:
- A dog that gives Jason the options to pet, scold or study it.
- A strange woman carrying two hammers, who recognises Jason and Lucia when they approach.
- The Trunk Challenge, in which Lucia gets caught up with a man hanging from the trunk of a moving car, shown with a livestream-style overlay and viewer comments.
Robberies between the side jobs and the story
Crime sits between pastimes and missions. SVG reports robberies of convenience stores, gas stations and phone shops, and KeenGamer lists a gas station and a waffle restaurant.
Reported by IGN, not shown in the Extended Look
KeenGamer also summarises an IGN preview that mentions activities absent from the footage, including mini golf, a visit to a zoo, the Ryde Me service for travelling without driving, and the return of Snapmatic (though the protagonists do not publicly upload their photos). The same preview says Jason and Lucia can grow closer through exploration, shopping, salons, exercise and robberies. Treat these as reported by IGN rather than shown by Rockstar.
