There is no PC version of GTA 6 at launch and none has been announced. Here is exactly what Take-Two has said, and what it does and does not tell you.
No PC version has been announced
No, GTA 6 is not coming to PC at launch, and no PC version has been announced at the time of writing (October 2026). Rockstar's official page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the 19 November 2026 release, and nothing else.
That does not mean a PC version will never come. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both reached PC after their console launches, and Take-Two has said its big games usually end up everywhere. But there is no PC date, no PC pre-order and no PC system requirements.
What Take-Two has said
Take-Two Interactive publishes Grand Theft Auto VI, and its chief executive, Strauss Zelnick, was asked about a PC version on the company's fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter earnings call in May 2026. As quoted by Wccftech on 22 May 2026, he said: "the PC market is a great market, and it is growing for console-type titles, and it is a market we serve avidly."
He went on: "Virtually all of our hit titles end up on all platforms over time. That said, Rockstar Games has announced GTA 6 for console only so far. We are excited about our November 19 release."
Those remarks are the clearest public statement on the subject. They confirm the announced platforms are consoles, and they describe Take-Two's general habit of bringing its hits to more platforms later. They give no PC date and do not promise a PC version.
What Take-Two's annual report says
Take-Two's annual report for the year to 31 March 2026, filed with the SEC, states: "Grand Theft Auto VI is planned for release on November 19, 2026, during our fiscal year 2027." It does not mention a PC version of the game.
Take-Two's fiscal year 2027 runs to 31 March 2027. In its May 2026 results, Take-Two forecast "new record levels of operating performance driven by the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI" for that year. A PC release would be a separate announcement.
How to read the silence
PC Gamer's headline sums up the mood among PC players: "I'm sorry to say Rockstar still won't tell us when (or even if) Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming to PC". Rockstar has said neither yes nor no.
The two words that matter in Zelnick's answer are "so far". He did not rule PC out, and he did not give a timeline. Reading his remarks as a firm no is a mistake, and so is reading them as a promise. The accurate summary is: console only at launch, PC not announced.
Any PC release date you see in a video, a post or a retailer listing is a rumour or a placeholder until Rockstar announces it.
What history suggests
Rockstar has a long record of launching on console first. GTA IV reached PC about seven months after its console release, Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year later, and GTA V about 19 months after its first console launch. Our article on why GTA 6 launches on consoles first goes through those dates.
If GTA 6 followed the same pattern, a PC version would arrive some time after November 2026. That is arithmetic on past releases, not a forecast, and Rockstar has not said it will follow the pattern.
What to do if you only play on PC
- Do not buy a PC copy from any site. There is no official PC version, so any PC listing is not from Rockstar.
- Watch Rockstar Newswire and Rockstar's GTA VI page. A PC announcement would appear there first.
- Decide whether to wait or buy a console. Official pre-orders are for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
